PWC riding can be even more fun when you bring along a friend or family member. But before you both take to the waters, ask yourself the following questions.

Is Your PWC Capable?

Not all personal watercraft can accommodate more than one rider. Be sure to verify that your given model can safely handle multiple riders! Either check the manufacturer's recommendations or the owner's manual to confirm.

Is Your Passenger Ready?

A passenger needs to be able to fulfill certain responsibilities before being allowed on a PWC ride.

First, they need to be capable of holding onto the personal watercraft to avoid falling off. They can grab the seat strap, rear grab handles, or the driver's life jacket.

Second, they need to be capable of communicating their needs to the driver. Hand signals are often used to communicate things such as "slow down" or "stop".

Third, they need to wear a life jacket that fits well. Otherwise, it may not offer the desired flotation assistance.

Are You Ready to Adapt?

PWC riding with a passenger is a different experience than PWC riding alone. The extra weight will affect how the personal watercraft handles. The turning radius and stopping distance, for example, may be quite different. Make sure you are ready to adjust to these changes and deliver a safe PWC riding experience.
